Organizational Development & Change
We believe that sustainable change can happen with access to knowledge, strategy, and capacity building. Developing and improving your organization as a practice involves an ongoing, systematic process of implementing effective organizational change methods. We often think of organizations as cars – you need to make sure you keep up with regular changes, make necessary repairs and maintenance, and know where you want to go as an organization in order to be effective. We roll up our sleeves and work with nonprofits to look under the hood to find opportunities to ensure that the organization is running at peak performance.
Organizational and Capacity Assessment
Organizational assessments help you identify what developmental stage your organization is in and assists in determining the best way to move to the next stage (i.e., strategic planning).
Colton Strawser Consulting is proud to partner with TCC Group to offer the Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT®), a leading organizational assessment tool for nonprofits. The CCAT is a statistically validated organizational capacity assessment that measures your nonprofits’ effectiveness in relation to four core capacities—leadership, adaptability, management, and technical capacities, and organizational culture.
Organizational Development
Once we identify a challenge, or set of challenges, we can help you design solutions to solve the problem. Organizational development is a fancy way to say capacity building or simply adjusting how your organization is currently running to achieve peak performance including organizational restructuring with new reporting lines, supporting staff through a new data collection and evaluation process, altering current processes and procedures, and more. Not all industry “best practices” are best for each organization, so let’s work together to identify how we can help you achieve your mission without running on empty.
Strategic Planning
Whether it is updating a current plan or creating your first strategic plan, we can assist your organization through the strategic planning process including stakeholder surveys, focus groups, market research, meeting facilitation, and board retreats. We help you identify strengths and weaknesses and develop plans to address them. We often use the Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT®) to help guide strategic planning and identify opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness. Strategic plans should not sit on a shelf, and we help you ensure your organization creates a plan that demands action!
